Sondre Guttormsen, a junior at Princeton representing Norway, won the men's pole vault title with a second-attempt clearance at 18-10.25 (5.75m) at the NCAA Division 1 Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Guttormsen also captured the Division 1 indoor crown in March in Birmingham, Ala., becoming the first male athlete since Akron's Shawn Barber represented Canada in 2015 to sweep both titles in the same year. Guttormsen secured the first men's outdoor title in any event for Princeton since Donn Cabral won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 2012. More videos |
